:: Artist Statement ::
My paintings are based primarily on balance and fluidity. Revealing extreme contrasts of shape and form that compliment the whole....
Music is the symphony of sounds and poetic words which leads my improvisational /reactive gestures. My training as a dancer and choreographer connect the music intuitively and my imagination conjures up shapes and forms that ultimately explore a world all my own inspired by fusion of the arts. As a choreographer, it is in my nature to visualize scenes; as the saying goes "All the world’s a stage," I put my signature style to that phrase twisting it up a bit with an awareness of physicality and explore the possibilities of movement within the painting. The act of pouring, splattering, oscillating, carving, layering, complimentary or contrasting textures and colors is a ritual for me.
My art is my communication of all things that I imagine and can reflect in my creations without words.... my Heaven.
