As if we hadn't done enough...

Todd just added an awesomely handy addition to the tagging feature.
Now your most popular tags show up under the text box where you (providers) add tags, and you can add your popular tags to new pieces just by clicking on those.

Please let us know if you like what were doing or have any suggestions,

BoundlessGallery always getting better;)

Love some the new changes.....Great Job Guys!!.....Now if only they didnt require a lot of work on my end....LOL

I have a suggestion: Can you guys make the "message canvas" space that appears under our artwork on the profile page smaller and add more pieces of artwork. When people are browsing, they look for something to catch their eye and then click on it. Us artists certainly have a much better chance of catching that eye, the more art we have displayed on that opening page. You never can know if you are just one painting away from a sale. But they never see it because they arent attracted to what is on the first profile page.

The message center display doesnt = sales. Showing more art does. :)

Sharon,
Currently, that front page (and every page) display 12 pieces then the message canvas appears on the bottom, so I think your question is really can we increase the default number of pieces on the artists profile page...
There are a lot of things to consider (load time is a major one, each image adds time that can really annoy customers on a slower connection or even someone who has two windows open) but I will say that on our long list of things to do, there are some tweaks to the profile pages and your thoughts will be seriously taken into consideration.
So for now stay tuned...:)
Thank you,
-Luke

If you change the settings to show 24 or 48 results on the search results or when browsing categories it carries over to the artist profile pages (at least it does in Firefox, I haven't checked IE).

It should be easy to just add that option to the profile page and let the customer choose how many pieces to show on each page.

Hi Sharon,
Its been up on general browses, and catagory searches for awhile now. Click browse or 'paintings' then theres 'narrow your results by popular tags' box.
We're still working on them but let us know what you think.
thanks,

Hi Luke,

Thank you for all of your hard work. I know I speak for many artists that appreciate the improvements that Boundless is trying to make.

I was under the impression these "keyword tags"
wcould be searchable from the homepage where it says "the art finder".....WHERE PEOPLE CAN ACTUALLY SEE "KEYWORD SEARCH" and where they will type keywords in.

I hit "browse & shop and then paintings and it took me awhile to even find the "narrow your results by popular keywords" box. It is too small and insignificant. I do not think many people will actually use it IMO. Plus if you are an artist and you do not put in "the most popular keywords" then the system is completely useless to you. One of the points is to be able to use a more obscure definition of your work with keywords and have that niche market find you. Popularity might not be a plus for everyone.

As a buyer I will put my keywords in on the homepage where they so obviously go.

If the new tags are not searchable from the homepage under "the art finder" in the slot specifically marked "keywords" then this will not help us sell our art any better IMO.

I just had to comment again. You guys know that I check the site everyday...many times a day. I check the blog, I check my account and the site for ANY changes.

When you said the new keyword feature had been up and running for awhile, I had to scratch my head. If me....the obsessive compulsive type A personality could not find it, I am thinking that it needs to be more obvious. I am not real fond of it as it stands, but at the least it needs to be more obvious for people to click on it.

I do note that when I type keywords into the actual "keyword search" section on the home page that it still pulls up irrelevent results. This is the biggest turn off (and perhaps the only real one) on Boundless Gallery IMO (for buyers). People want what they want and they want to find it easily and quickly.

Most people who google and then click to Boundless will look over the paintings on the first page and then use the "art finder" up top if they are looking for something specific. If they do "Browse & Search" for awhile, they will come back to the homepage to look for keywords because they will remember the big box on that page for that purpose.

I am candid because beating around the bush never gets rid of the bush. :)

P.S. And I am on sabbatical and still working....LOL

Hey Guys,

I did a little experiment. I have a handful of collectors that I "run things by" periodically. When I change my logo, I ask them what they think. When I change my template on eBay, I ask them before I go live. Great people that I can count on to be honest. And sometimes they are brutally so. But this is what I am looking for and exactly why I contact them when I make changes.

I sent out 25 emails asking all of them to click on the link to Boundless with the idea in mind that they were looking for a "red abstract painting". I told them to look over the site, to get familiar with it and then "find what they were looking for". I didnt tell them anything else. I asked them to email me back and let me know how they went about finding a "red abstract painting".

I have gotten 9 responses so far. Several commented on the fact that Boundless is a nice looking site. All 9 of these people said they used the keyword search on the home page to find the red painting.

Waiting for more...

Sharon

P.S. I then offered them a coupon for 15% off through Boundless for their help. :)

Hi Sharon,
As I said earlier, "We're still working on them but let us know what you think."
We know that the tags can be better used and were already working on it, but it takes some time to write the necessary code, for example to make the artfinder search for words in titles and descriptions plus the new tags.
Thank you for the input, I assure you we take it very seriously.
And tell your collectors thanks for the kind words about our site.

P.S. Try and enjoy your sabbatical, I know it can be hard to stay offline for too long :)
