The Next Improvement
Now the custom categories that were once reserved for individual artists' sites are displayed on the public profile page. Sharon Cummings has a great example of how to use them, as she sorted her black & white series.
For now in addition to the default 'ALL' and 'SOLD', 4 can be displayed.
To use the new feature: providers need to log into their account and click on Inventory then "Manage Categories" to make some custom categories if you haven't, and then "My Folders" to select which ones are displayed on your profile page.
Please let us know what you think about the latest innovations at BoundlessGallery.com, and as always be prepared for the next upgrades soon!

On the Sold tab on my site, there is only one piece showing. Do I have to manually do something to add?
Regarding improvements:
Where is the explanation about Non-Profit Accounts and how does this work?
Currently the only explanation is on the ART SELLERS link, which is where all accounts fees and features are described. (But your right there should be more, we'll add it to the 'things-to-do' list, thanks)
Non-Profit accounts register like any other artist or gallery account, but during the certification process that everyone goes through we check to make sure they are a registered 501c3 (a legal non-profit). These groups can register and earn 12.5% commission on sales coming from their own websites,
and/or if they have art or artist whose work they sell to raise funds, they can sell at boundless at 5% commission.
We think that these groups do a lot for local communities and we'd like to help do for them.
Everyone who is involved with one, please tell your local non-profit groups about BoundlessGallery's non-profit program.
They can call us for additional details at; 618-549-7220

The new sold tab (Part of 'My Folders') should display all the works you have marked as 'sold' in your inventory, which for most people is 4 because we used to limit it because we didnt want customers to have to browse through all the sold works, but now is unlimited since we sort them for you.
Hope that explains it :)
If you find a bug please email as at; support@boundlessgallery.com

ummm....mine still limits my "SOLD" to only 4.
My fault, I spoke faster than Matt our programmer could type.
The 'Tabs' are up and sometime 'soon' (meaning today) sold pieces wont be limited to 4, and will only be displayed on providers profile pages.
Sorry,
Luke
So they wont show on the rest of the site? Clogging it up with stuff that isnt even available...(this is a good thing). Just the "sold" tab under my profile? Will they not show in the "all" section of my profile. Meaning that buyers will have to specifically click on the "sold" tab to see your past sold work?
Sharon
Matt says "everything" will show in the All folder.
And yes, sold works will not show up in general searches by customers.
Luke
I see that the new feature is up and running. I think it is a good thing to give transpanency to actual sales in the past.
Still wish however that there was a way to include images of pieces that were commissioned. Most private clients want privacy with regard to the prices. Any ideas yet?
Janeice
Janeice,
I've actually got an idea to address the issue of commission pieces, but the programmers can only build so much at a time... We have noted the issue and will address it asap, thanks
-Luke
I personally dont want images of past sales to show. I sell commissions of the same paintings so I dont want them to see I sold the same red painting 4 times in the last month. Then they wont feel like they are getting something special. I just want a number there and no image.
I also dont want potential copycat artists seeing what I sell to determine what is popular and therefore best to copy. Have had way too much of this problem on eBay.
Is there anyway that we as artists can choose to turn that feature on or off? That would be great. I can turn mine off and Janeice can turn hers on. :)
Want the Feedback to show, but not the image.....
Sharon
Thanks Luke.
I look forward to the new developments. Meanwhile I have made mention of this future situation on website journal.
Janeice
Sharon,
Its the weekend so I cant speak with the programmers, but I beleive you can still delete pieces that are marked as sold so that repeats wont show in the sold folder.
Hopefully, the new commission piece idea will solve these issues, but you'll have to give us a little time to build, were super busy at BG :)

okay I figured it out on getting the tabs on my gallery site but how about moving the tabs so it does not cover up the first 4 paintings on each page? And did the sold tab get loss some where, hehehe...I just can't see it but maybe it is just me....the blog will not let me log in so I am anonymous....

Hi Barbara,
Im not sure of your question about covering up the first 4 pieces. The tabs on your profile page shouldn't be covering anything, if they are, the only thing I can think of, is it may be your browser settings(?).
And I see the sold tab and your four 'My Folders' fine in both Explorer and Firefox.
If you are speaking of your custom website, the custom catagories can be turned on/off, we noticed you had them off, so Nolan turned them on for you.
Let us know if your still having any problems, we're always happy to help.
-Luke
It is still covering the paintings, I sent a screen shot to Nolan so maybe they can figure out why....if it is happening to me, I am sure it is happening to others or possible buyers. I don't see the sold tab at all and this is the way I see it in other artists pages as well. Thank you all for all the great changes you are all doing....it just has to get better and better with all of this. The number one place for artists!

Hi Barb,
I saw your screen shot, that is definitely not right. We've tried everything we could do to "break" our browsers and get it to recreate your experience, but we can't, so far at least. Matt one of the lead programmers who built the feature is looking to see if their is anything he can do. I'm guessing you are using an older version of Explorer that just can't read the code quite right, it may be time to upgrade, or you may just need to reset your settings, under 'Tools' > 'Advanced' > 'RESET TO DEFAULT'.
We're trying to see if there's anything we can do, we obviously want to put our best foot forward to all visitors. Thank you for the kind comment, we are doing everything we can to be the best home for artists online. :)

I am using about a 3 year old computer and internet explorer 6. Tried to go to explorer 7 before but it locked up my computer. Tried reseting as you stated and restarted the computer but it still shows it the same way. Thanks, did go look at it with netscape and it is beautiful so I can see it does work in other browsers. Well I guess I will just have to sell alot of paintings to get a new computer!
Thanks again!

Well, I'm sure there is a way to make your current cpu work, but we'll do our best to help you a buy a new one! :)
Best of luck,
Luke
