New Site Partner

One of BoundlessGallery's artist is heavily involved in the talentdatabase.com project that I've mentioned here before. We've stuck up a friendly conversation and are exploring how we can help each other's causes. Artists will notice
this banner:

on the left hand of provider pages.
BoundlessGallery will have a similar banner on their site starting next Tuesday (barring any unforseen tech problems) to coincide with the launch of some of the many new features and tools coming from our programmers.

The Boundless team is feeling pretty good right now (even with all the work were doing) it is an exciting time to be in the (online) art business.

Please feel free to share anything you like.

I have signed up on this site.

What I am noticing is this: I now spend hours a day responding to other artists from all of these sites/friends.

What I really want to do is correspond with collectors/buyers and sell my art. In theory all of this networking sounds great, but in reality they are just time suckers.

What I like about Boundless friends is that I am allowed to directly invite art buyers to be my friend and interact with the. I have already sold 6 pieces as a result of friends I have made on Boundless.

At some point I may have to cut some of these sites that are only for artists (where buyers dont hang out). There is only so much time in a day and between painting, photographing, listing, customer emails/phone calls, packaging, etc.....too much social time just doesnt fit in.

I completely agree with you for the most part. But what i like about the talentdatabase,

1)its run by artists whose goal is to create a place customers / patrons can go to find talented people.

2)they also seem to understand the online side of the art industry

3)they beleive BoundlessGallery is the best place for artists to sell online :)

And while it is heavily trafficed but talent now, they have to build a database for the patrons to search later, right?

So while it might be of no use to someone as successful as you sharon it may be a great place for emerging artists to go, and if nothing else discover boundlessgallery ;)

I agree with you. Emerging artists need to get their feet wet and get used to the online venue. Sites like Talentdatabase is perfect for that.

Just noting how it takes up time.

So far I have just gotten tons of emails/messages from other artists since I signed up today. Already. It is hard because you dont want to be rude. You feel inclined to respond. Even if you are busy.

Maybe over time it will have more patrons and they will send messages. Interest in buying.

I give everything a go. If it isnt something worthwhile, I drop it. If I had not tried Boundless.....I wouldnt have made all of the sales here.

Also things online have a way of "evolving" and you never know where a site will eventually lead you....

I say that artists should sign up here and everywhere else that is "free". I have always done this. If it is "free" it's for "me". :)

I get random sales from "free" sites every month.
