Stocking Stuffers! Gifts for Artists

I was thinking about all the great art that is going to be given to friends and family as gifts this winter, and I began to wonder, "what do artists want?"

I'm sure there's the usual list of I-Products, Gizmos, and Jewelry. (Of coarse I'd recommend introducing your artist friends to the benefits of Boundless.) But for those already enjoying the site, maybe a good book would make for a good gift to give to your friend 'the artist'.

So off I went searching for a good book for artists... here's what I found;

How to Survive and Prosper as an Artist, 5th ed.: Selling Yourself Without Selling Your Soul (Paperback)by Caroll Michels

Now, I can't say I recommend this book, having never read it but it's got good reviews on Amazon, and you can preview a large chunk of it by following that link above, thanks to Google Books. The cover says that the 5th edition now includes the web strategy, and there's a section about assessing online galleries.. I bet Boundless stacks up well :)

More Groups of Note

There are two new groups in the Boundless social network that may directly lead to more traffic to an artist work.

Boundless Blogs
A group dedicated to listings of Boundless artists' personal blogs. In addition to the traffic boost you may get just from being in the group, artists might get additional attention, like this:
"Francesca's Heart Studio"
"Jennie'sPalette"
"The Galactic Truth"
"Peter Worsley" (Everyone say happy birthday to Peter, he is still going strong at 78 years young!)

Artist News
A group for artists to post any press releases or news stories that they have been featured in. (There may be bonus points for artists that include a mention that their work is available at BoundlessGallery.com ;)

There groups are still fresh out of the oven, so where improving them as they cool down. "Live" links are coming, and better formatting.

Use the Boundless tools, there are many more unknown art-selling/promoting possibilities that have yet to be discovered.

A Great Use of Groups

A long-time Boundless Artist, Cortney Romeril , has used our new feature to create a wonderful group, Art for the Better . She is calling for ideas and discussions on how artists can use their talents to help support the causes they believe in. So if you have a cause you're passionate about, or if you'd just like to snoop on the discussions there, check it out.

Bravo, Cortney! This is the kind of meaningful experience we hoped to see from our network. Selling art is an art form in and of itself, sometimes it may take a personal connection with a patron, or maybe you can learn from someone else trying make a living at this profession, the groups can be a place to share, learn, and maybe even help better the world:)

Boundless is Booming! - My Groups, My Stats, Black Friday...

We’ve been working overtime at BoundlessGallery.com to make the best place to sell art online, even better. All of the following are now up and running:

o My Stats – Artists asked for them, so Boundless is delivering. You can now see how many times a day your pieces are being viewed. We even went a step further to show you where on Boundless it was viewed and where your customers are coming from.

o Go Boundless – Black Friday – Our biggest contest ever is off to the races! (Artists) Start sending everyone you know to your profile page to vote for you, you could win Artist of the Month! (Art Lovers) go to your favorite artist's page to vote, you could win $500!


These new releases come on the heels of the ­new Art on Sale page, Category Showcase, and the new My Link tool. Apology to Janeice

Hello everyone, I'm writing to give myself a public flogging for making an unfortunate mistake in our newsletter that went out yesterday. I spelled Janeice Silberman's name wrong! She is giving away "Mystics 2" in our "Win Free Art" Contest this month. It was one of those rare times where something slips through the many checks we have in place to avoid something like this happening. I just want everyone to know we do not plan on making this type of deplorable behavior a habit, and I do apologize to Janeice. Have a great day!

Black Friday and Public Coupons / Discounts

We never stop working here at BoundlessGallery.com, today we added our public discounts and coupons section to the homepage, and we released our biggest contest ever!
The public discounts page is an opportunity for artists to promote their work and for customers to save some money on great art.

The "Go Boundless - Black Friday" contest is now underway, and we expect it will be a lot of fun. For it to be a huge success we need you guys, our artists and customers, to promote and vote. Customers can win up to $500 and the #1 Artist will earn a package that includes being named Artist of the Month in Dec.

We've got lots of other plans under way right now as, we're going to make this holiday shopping season our biggest ever!
