Web site lets shoppers try art out for size
A big hindrance to buying art online has been the hassle of having it shipped only to find that it doesn't quite work in the room, then having to ship it back. BoundlessGallery.com has a great new feature, "View-in-a-Room" (shown), that paints that drawback out of the picture.
The site links shoppers with the works of more than 2,000 artists around the world, and allows shoppers to upload a picture of their room and put various paintings and artworks on the wall. It's a big plus for folks who don't live near an art mecca such as the Bay Area.
"It used to be you had to travel or live in a big city to see more than a limited selection of pieces," said company President Peter Gregory. "We are striving to make the art shopping experience more enjoyable and more accessible to all."
Even with the new feature, the company has a money-back guarantee in case reality falls short of virtual reality.
