Living His Dream
From his early childhood growing up in southern Nigeria to traveling the world later in life, Kanayo Ede has dreamed of being an artist. Now, that dream is a reality as Ede is living in Atlanta and selling his work worldwide with the help of on line galleries like BoundlessGallery.com where he is currently their Artist of the Month.
“I cannot think of a time I did not want to be an artist.” said Ede. “From the time I knew what a pencil was I wanted to be an artist.”
Ede focuses mostly on landscapes because of the variety and freedom they offer.
“You always see something you have never seen before.” said Ede. “I can move things around the way I want them without any complaints. I like to change things and create my own landscapes. If I don't get the trees right they do not complain.”
Ede says he leaves any deeper message or meaning to the viewers of his work, and just focuses on creating a beautiful painting.
Ede had this to say about his art.
“I hope to grow with time, I want to be able to see the progress and the transformation from year to year as I get older. I want to look back and see a variety of paintings, of mood swings and colors. I want to look back on my work and to have it remind me of different times in my life.”
