Sorry if that was implied, just saying that Iris' comment was really great, and I hope we can gear towards the positive slant of improving |

There are so many discussions on this topic, I wasn't sure where to post this! I just wanted to chime in as another artist (so the issue doesn't seem like one that's only important to the few that scribble frequently). I'm glad that the artists (Iris, Cesar, Sharon, Laurel, etc.) are not relenting on the issue. I have stopped sending co-workers to the site for fear of having the collage that Cesar mentioned pop up on their work screens.
I also do want to thank Luke and the staff for making it clear that they are working on the issue. I've been with the site since 2005, and the changes since then are AMAZING. For what seems like a very small staff, they get a lot done and are always helpful and very respectful in the face of what probably feels like constant criticism.
Thanks! |

That system works for me! I think you eased my mind. I'm sure some people roll with the punches of bad taste better than others. Thumbs Up BG!
Sorry there has to be those bad apples spoiling it for so many others, but they need attention too. UGHa Bugga! |

Courtney, you make a great point. When we are unable to promote this site to our friends, families, and co-workers then sales go down. That is something that affects all of us. Iris put forth a great solution. I hope it is implimented very quickly.

I can't take credit, the flagging isn't my invention, many other sites and chats use the flagging function! However, I'm glad you accepted this! |

*cry* did I hear you right? are nudes blocked now? all nudes? really? until this system goes up? can I just remove the tags? what are the parameters? how can I get around it? and I'm asking as an artist who does "tasteful" nudes and deserves a shot.
and yes, you will get many people flagging it out of spite, or pig headedness, or prissiness, or religious differences. take a look at redbubble's flagging tool, it logs the email addy so that the receiver can respond and tell them why or why not a piece can or cannot be filtered. it is very useful, that way if someone is just being a dick it can be responded to. it also has censorship issues and so forth. a neat little package.
might I suggest also having clear guidelines for the boundaries so that whoever handles the complaints has a list, it's one that is posted on the site and there is a solid line. it will piss people off but if there are clear guidelines then there are clear rules. my suggestion would be along the lines of no vulva, no erections and no penetration. labia are acceptable in small amounts as long as there is no vulva showing. |

so Luke, you said in the other forum that nudes aren't blocked now or will ever be.. and in this forum you said this
"Thought #1 - 'Lets just block everything in the 'nudes' section (which we already have by the way) from showing up."
which is it please? |

Sorry for the confusion. I was going through the hypothetical "solutions" and showing that they all have big pitfalls.
The "(we already have)" statement is referring to the fact that we have a nudes section under 'subject'. |
