I think a customer has one week from the date the item was delivered to. In my case.....
March 7: A sale
March 13: Customer received the painting
March 20: The sale closed
March 26: BG issued e-check to my paypal
April 1: e-check's pending cleared
April 1: Requested a transfer it to my bank account
April 7: I will finally get the actual money for the sale
The word "e-check" gives me an impression that it is fast, but it is actually slower than any other transaction. When someone in Germany bought my art it took 5 days from the date they wire transfered to the day of all pending status cleared.
Paypal used to be the only online transaction years ago, but now there are other popular services. I don't want to use Paypal unless there's no other way to move money. |

with check BG sending the check after 7 days (from the shipping day), after the customer cannot return the item. I sold a painting on march 22 and shipped in march 24 so the customer has until today, April 1, 2008 to return this order, and the payment will be processed after today. So it takes like 10 days for BG to send you the check. |

I am in shock to know it takes many days to get actually paid for a sale. Today my Paypal finally cleared the pending e-check, but the funding still is not available because I had to request a transfer from Paypal to my bank account, and that will take 3-4 days of yet another pending/processing period.
So I now know that it takes at least one month after a date of sale just to get paid.
I already switched to "paid by check," but can anyone tell me if the check is issued once a week, and it is a NORMAL check that doesn't require two weeks of pending/processing?
I find it strange that I get actual money next week or so for the sale I made on March 7. Yes, BG paid me, but I still don't have money. It takes nearly TWO WEEKS for the e-check to turn into money. I have never seen anything like this. A check that takes two weeks to access the money? I cannot believe it. |
