Hey BG--
The new Click and Drag feature for sorting inventory is really nice! It is helpful to have a basic visual of how my inventory is going to be displayed on a page without having to go back and forth. Plus, being able to "see-at-a-glance" the folder, page #, etc. of pieces is incredibly helpful.

Awesome job, BG!!!

I didn't know about 'Black Friday', it was before I joined. That's great.

Going by the amount of people entering and commenting on these competitions, I think that 'amusement' clearly does matter.
I didn't suggest it was at the expense of a meaningful features.
My point is that not everyone is engaged by 'chat'. Different people like to join in, in as many different ways as there are people. Some artist clearly don't enjoy chat. So what do they do?
I think it is a mistake to miss the opportunity to engage with so many more of the artists here on BG in a different way.

-Glad you guys like the di$count, it really is meant as a 'Thank You'

-As far as contests go, we don't mind the occasional foray. Last years 'Black Friday' was pretty successful overall. However, a lot of the ones around the web are kind of purely for the artists own amusement, and we are currently more focused on improving our services and building more meaningful features.

....coming very soon... "Drag & Drop"....

No it wasn't cheap or flashy. It was various competitions open to the artists only. It didn't interfere with the quality of the site.

Each competition was voted on by the artists themselves and prizes were given. I think it's a great idea. I used to love entering art/other competitions as a child. Just fun really. And prizes as well!!

My point being just chatting is the only hobby activity here on boundless at the moment when not selling (nice though that is)

Anyone agree with me??

I too feel that BG is doing the reliable and honest job.
I also sense that all of those flashy elements cheapen the website and the artists work indirectly. If you want to be respected by the buying community (whether bricks and mortar or online), it is best to keep this fanfare to a minimum.
I know many an artist who steers away from the internet exactly because of this stuff. They maintain their personal fanfare at shows, fundraisers, galleries, etc. Sooner or later all of this clashing of the two menus...will calm down. Meanwhile it is hard to beat the new entry from trying to hone in on Boundless Gallery's success.
BE Patient!

"BG is wonderfully RELIABLE, which is fab. But fresh and exciting???"

Honestly, I have so many sites that I "interact" on that all I need is MORE interaction. I need time to paint and my first priority in a site is whether or not I SELL art. I am not primarily here for the social aspect. That is a side dish.

Personally when I see too many "exciting" things flashing up like oodles of contests, surveys, etc. I start to feel like I am at the fair/flea market.

You dont walk into a high end gallery and see a big sign that "vote for your favorite artist" or beneath a fine art painting "make a comment so this artist can win a prize". Cheezy.

Right now I am selling zero on BG. And tons on Etsy and Yessy.

I want BG to focus on selling our art more than frills. My 2 cents.
