HOORAY - glad to find people interested in Asian themes. I am a Landscape and Figurative artist. My interest in landscape is based on the Chinese Philosophy of Yin/Yang- the hidden forces in Nature of Chi energy, of the feminine and masculine forms Hidden in Nature. IN most Traditional Chinese landscape paintings, are hidden in the painting symbols of the feminine and masculine including symbols of the Phalus..

Hidden in Van Gogh's most famous painting "STARRY NIGHT" is the symbol of the YIN/YANG- Most Art Historians have never written or seen this HIDDEN SYMBOL of Chinese Philosophy- most of the brush strokes in Van Goghs paintings pertain to the Chi energy Van Gogh could see- unfortunately MOST ART HISTORIANS ATTIBUTE THESE BRUSH STROKES TO VAN GOGH'S MENTAL ILLNESS- WRONG- WRONG- WRONG !

I AM ALSO INTERESTED IN CHINESE OPERA and presently have an exhibit of CHINESE OPERA paintings in downtown OAKLAND,CALIFORNIA at the OAKLAND ASIAN CULTURAL CENTER . CHINESE OPERA has a tradition that is 200 years old. Most parts , both females and males were usually performed only by men. Now women also perform both male and female parts. To become a Chinese Opera Singer, training begins as early as 6 years old.
Today to be a Super Star of the Chinese Opera a performer must not only be an excellent SINGER but also an excellent DANCER AND ACROBAT as well as have knowledge of KUNG FU.
