| Art Marketing | In this group, I will post interesting articles about marketing your art, opportunities, interesting websites for artists, tips etc.
When I was starting my career as an artist, I have to say that I soaked up as much of this information as possible and it really helped me out.
I would really like for this group to be interactive, so please share your advice as well as any articles you find & opportunities. | | | | | | | | Lesson 1 | | Opportunities | | Lesson 4 (Advertising Part 2) | | Lesson 3 (Advertising) | | Lesson 2 (Your website) | | | | Message Canvas | | | | | Janeice Silberman said at 8:29am on June 24th, 2008 | New IDEA for marketing. I have decided to run a SPECIAL OF THE WEEK..from my web site. This week's special is a landscape.......at a great price for newbies who are hesitant to buy on the net. I plan to rotate the pieces from week to week...and identify the current special on my HEADLINE.

Discuss a price that makes both of you satisfied. You also just started the ball rolling with potential new customers through this new client. For some artists any new avenue counts. | | Remove | | Pamela Miller said at 5:24pm on March 30th, 2008 | Karen, I think your idea is excellent. I just bought a new home last year and the agent gave me a gift card as a thank you for doing business with her. I suggested she give her buyers a painting of their new home instead(done by me of course). She loved the idea and has since placed a ton of custom orders with me plus bought artwork for her own home AND her and I exchange links on our websites and blogs etc...Its worked well. Happy Selling and looking forward to working with you all. Heres to a profited 2008 ***cheer***

"We believe that Boundless Gallery should be a family friendly site and that pornographic images have no place on the front page or in general circulation within the site." | | | | A Wonder Of Nature Photographs said at 3:38pm on March 14th, 2008 | I have been a member for only a short time (2/28/2008). Any "old timers" whow would be willing to share with a rookie how to take the greatest advantage of boundlessgallery or other sales venues?
Comments on my work are always appreciated positive as well as negative particularly my abstract stuff which is a new genre for me. | | | | Christina Lawson said at 4:12pm on March 2nd, 2008 | Today, I tried something different as well, I have a large inventory stock, so in an effort to eliminate, I had an "Art Party Sale", out of my garage/yard! My subdivision does not allow yard sales so I had to come up with something a little more original, i sold one current painting, and was commissioned to make two more with a third potential. Now dont get me wrong, the prices were low to try and get the crowd in, but I still made money, which is always a !!!!
If you have the ability to have a yard art sale, i would suggest it, just know that your prices will not be as much as if you were selling at a gallery or online. | | | | Karen Reading said at 2:43pm on March 2nd, 2008 | In exchange the realtor will ask you "who do you know that is looking to buy or sell a home in the next 6 months?". We all love referrals. Give one of us a referral that actually buys and you will have a loyal art promoter!!!! | | | | Karen Reading said at 2:41pm on March 2nd, 2008 | hi folks, here is a marketing idea that I am trying. See what you all think about it. I am a realtor and have a real estate website that I promote. As a link to that website I am putting my webpage here, or my collections. I am calling it "Beautiful art for your new home". I am sure that if you approached realtors in your home town, they would be interested in a link. You might also ask to help them with a broker's open by having an art show there for the 2 hours that they are showing the home to other realtors. Be warned, there is usually food involved. You are there to add an attraction to help get the other realtors to visit. And, who knows, you might sell a piece! In OK it is illegal to intice a buyer to buy a home through you, so we can not give really nice gifts. But in other states you might offer the realtor to buy your art from you as a gift to her clients at a slight discount. Anyway, you might get them to help send art buyers to BG, sell some pieces, or simply meet some crazy folk. I'm open to questions or comments. And please know that the RE practices vary from town to town, so be prepared to be flexible. By the way, approach the working realtor, not the superstar who has a team that does their work for them while they are the "name". The worker is more likely to want to cross market with you. | | | | Karen Reading said at 2:41pm on March 2nd, 2008 | hi folks, here is a marketing idea that I am trying. Seems to me, the prices you are offering your paintings for sale are not really for online galleries. you will be more successful selling for these prices at a brick and mortar gallery, that is if you have a reputation of a well known artist, which you may have in Malaysia. Perhaps it's also possible to sell art for these prices online, but again, one has to have reputation in the country they are selling, and I believe most buyers on Boundless are from the US. Best of luck to you!
