Hey guys, I see you're not liking the idea, and I agree the text would have to be much shorter than the current headline, and an Image would be mandatory, but take a look at the photo I just posted to this group and tell me if you think that is too much?? Image, Name/Link, and Short Text in the left Nav Bar? |

Luke it is really a great idea....but the customer will not see the same artist's headline daily....it will keep changing i guess !! probably it is good idea to attract one look !! |

me no like it either.... javascript... mouse hover.... look nice, easy to do.... you already have the mouse hover function on the showcase, there's the text of the name of the artist, only allow a few more words.... it will look nice! |

I agree with Iris completely. Art should be viewed in as clean a format as possible. Let the work really shine. That is what catches the eye and gets clicks. |

wow! what a response! :D I do love the headlines as an independent unit and put one up as soon as I saw them! (advertising the sale of course ;) do they send out on the update emails? I agree it might look a little much on the home page but I like the idea of the mouseover or something. a headlines link on the side and an rss feed would be nice as an idea as well. (I'd subscribe to that!).
I currently have a coupon set up (but not active) and was wondering about the events - Luke can I add something like that as an event? I really like the idea of sending out messages to collectors - can we send messages to multiple people in the internal messaging software? actually, it would be better to write individual messages... hmm

having just looked at the picture you posted Luke, I think it looks pretty ok, but I would personally prefer a larger picture of a piece to go with it instead of a profile pic.. but maybe thats just me..
oh, I also bought showcase for the whole week leading up to (and just after) the sale - I thought that might be a good idea... |

yeah !! i like the idea of the art to be viewed in a clean format instead of the headline....art speaks it all....and it would remain in the mind of a person longer than the headline...!! |

I definitely agree with Jennie, it should be a picture of the artwork, and not of the artist! I also think the space should be used mainly for displaying artwork, and minimize the text.
