Great idea Thomas Matchie!!

If anyone wants to post their work for 'constructive criticism' from fellow artist - go ahead here. This is a lovely warm group here and often some kind of feedback is very useful. :)

Hi Cesar Garcia,
I confess I didn't know it was called 'plasma art' but I do think it's gorgeous. I can see why you do it. It reminds me of space and mystery. Except with more lovely gooey colour. It has opened my eyes to so many different types of fab. art being on this site for me. It seems there are almost as many styles as personalities and that is wonderful.

I tried contemporary myself, but wasn't really sure what I was doing at first. By my fifth piece, I really liked what I'd done.

What can I say...there is nothing to criticize. I love BIG color and high contrast. Bravo!

I notice there is no place upload a photo of the work. That would certainly help in the conversation.
Nice looking dog over there on the left Laurel.
How do I do this, browse the art and then bring up the painting? Hmmm?

Hey, good point Melinda,
I thought people could just post their photo on the main thread of 'things I love or hate'?

All your lovely abstracts have encouraged me to retrieve some I did a few years ago. I've put some up for sale, let me know what you think. I feel a bit 'insane' when I do abstract, so I don't do too many. Does that afflict others the same?? Let me know it is you look for in an abstract painting. Or is it all about ME? And what I paint?

Laurel your abstract painting looks delicious! I was also not very comfortable doing abstracts initially but now I find,I am more relaxed and actually like the freedom of not sticking to realism. It is liberating atleast for me and I enjoy the movement of colour. Would love to hear comments about my work from some of the more experienced artists here.
I liked your colour combination and especially liked the title. Keep painting:-)

Thanks Manjiri,
yes it is strangely liberating yet sometimes disturbing doing abstract. I can't decide on it yet. Maybe I'll do some more. They certainly are more forgiving, in terms of detailed work. You know, if you put an eye in the wrong place on a traditional painting, it really shouts at you. So, that side is quite freeing.
I love your 'Passion For Fruit' I think it's beautifully painted. The colours you use are so vibrant. I especially like it when you do reflections and flowers :) Happy painting.

Thanks for the compliments about my work. You are right about it being liberating and disturbing. I generally do abstracts when I want to relax as I dont have to bother about the choice of subject I am painting. My abstracts sometimes just happen! I donot start with a conscious idea. I pick the colours and then just do whatever I feel like...Ofcourse this becomes frustrating when I am not happy with the result. Well then I just move away for sometime and start over...abstracts take some courage to do!!! So get going and wish you luck.
