i wish i could add up anything in the 'sales' discussion...but i have no experience till now....so i don't know what pattern will be for me......but whatever experience i have had till date just taught me to paint bright and colorful paintings that has some meaning to it.....i really agree to Sharon when she says that 'red' and 'black' sells.....but again my painting 'the glory of the sunset' was sold at it's original price despite of no red in it at all.....so i think there is no pattern as such for a sale of a painting......it depends i guess from artist to artist....but yes the speacial occasions like christmas and thanks giving could give a reason to buyers to buy.....just keep painting !!!
it's been so long now since i painted....i am craving to paint something....the ideas are jumping in my head ....!!!
well, i love the pictures Hengameh.....they are so beautiful....speacially the one with the man walking...it is beautiful...amazing photograph !!

Hi friends!
Hey there are flowers and blossoms now!! At last I think it's spring. My husband came back from England with some BIG BUGGER brushes for me for my birthday. Can't wait to try them. They are HUGE! Not great art stores here in Switzerland. Can't get excited about them. Aren't large art stores fabulous!!!

Hey Hengameh,

I remember you asked a few scribbles ago for all your friend's MYSpace accounts so that you can email them.
I finally got my yesterday if interested.
It's: www.myspace.com/plasmicart

Anyone who would like to email and comment....lines are open!! Need some feedback as how you think I could make myspace better. Kim's been working on it herself as I've been swamped with photo shoots. But it's a new animal for her too! Love to email all my friends as well....whenever I get a quick breather.

Gotta run...have a wedding today in Savannah and the weather is crappy :(

Allie's been singing "The Sun Al Come Out" all morning! Ha!
LOL!!

Sharon I agree with you. I truly believe in positive thinking . I have had a lot of experiences in life where,if I wanted someting badly I kept pulling for it in my thoughts, and then however difficult it seemed, I got it. But i also observe that after you hope for it, there comes a time where you surrender your strength/thoughts, and then it happens just like a blessing!
It is just difficult to explain how this power works!

I am a big believer in affirmations...both good and bad. And practicing "good affirmations" cannot hurt you and will only make you feel good inside. :)

And regard to patterns. My sales are good in Feb. and March every year and slow down in the Summer only to increase again around September.

Seems we all have different patterns. But the good news is that down always swings back up!!

Susan thanks for sharing your experience. It is always heartening to know that slow sales has a pattern, which means we can expect better times to come:)I will be travelling to San Francisco this month. Hope to come back to a sale:)

Sharon congrats on the sale! Glad affirmations worked for you. Gives me hope to encourage positive affirmation practice :) Hope it will work for all of us:)BTW your Black magic is really cool!

Corny as it sounds...I use affirmations. I was looking over my inventory yesterday and said to myself that I have too many "Black Magic" pieces and not enough "Pure Water". So I painted 6 new "Pure Water" paintings and said I will sell a bunch of "Black Magics". Then a few hours later I log on and 4 "Black Magic" pieces sold. :)

For me- sales are usually slow in Feb and March. I have tracked it 8 years straight! Typically it starts to pick up before Mothers Day- or if not, late Summer as some folks start asking for Christmas/ Hannukah Commission work. But my work is representational, I don't do much abstract. So I notice that landscapes sell all year (even Fall landscapes). Flowers mainly sell in Spring and Summer, pears and lemons sell in the Fall, etc..

I agree with Sharon in that I look at the whole year or every six months to see how I am doing. And when it is slow, I paint paint paint, think of new ideas.

Have you ever heard a watched listing never sells? I am not superstitious at all but it never fails when I go out of town and stop checking my online listings- stuff sells !

Good luck to everyone !!

Susan
