Hi all -
I just saw a quote this past weekend while visiting Asheville, NC -
"The glory of each new day is that it gives us the chance to begin again." -
I loved it and just think of all the ways you can apply it! Not just to art, but to relationships, diets, resolutions, etc, etc.

One of my favorite quotes is :

One who learns from his or her own experiences is an experienced one. One who learns from others' experience is a knowledgeable one. One who does not learn is a moron.

Dawn,

I consider myself as a "part-time artist", "part-time writer" and "full-time graphic designer" and there's no conflict. The only worries I have is sometimes I start writing a novel and find no way to end it. Also, after finished writing a novel, it is very hard to get it published. Published it on-line in my blog is easy but produce a real book is very hard.

Anyway, I still enjoy it, otherwise I don't do it.

Sometimes, when I mourn the loss of my love of novel writing, I wonder why painting has chosen me. I struggle with calling myself "artist" instead of "writer." I know there are many that wouldn't see that as a big leap, but for me the difference is an ocean apart. All sorts of doubts and fears come to nag at me. But when I sit down and start to paint, I transend. The whole world falls away, surrendering to the process of painting. That's what I enjoy.

Jitske Kelly.

Sometimes it is hard to go on. Agree with Dawn Blair, making interaction with more people will help. My way is create a "My Gallery" column in my blog and post my pictures there. Then, other bloggers write comment on it. For the abstract art, they tell me the picture look like a necklace or anything. They tell me they like the picture or not. They tell me the picture gives them what kind of feeling. That can help me to go on.
