Wow, Johnnie, we all have seen the devestation on TV, but to hear first hand of the tragedy brings it home. I will send along good thoughts and I know with others such as yourself contributing to the recovery effort your community will be stronger for it! |

Johnnie Belinda--
So sorry to hear about the challenging times for you and your family. I live in Missouri where there is some flooding as well; we are fortunate that we have not been affected so far.
My thoughts are with you and your family. I agree whole-heartedly with Caroline: the art you create with your debris will most assuredly be a reflection from deep within your soul of your strength and tenacity. |

Hi Johnnie Belinda, so sorry to hear about your family's loss, it must have been terrible. I am sure that piece of art you create from the debris is going to have A LOT of meaning and depth from the soul. I wish the best. |

Hello
everyone I live in Indiana, where we have been hit by flood waters. My daughters mother in-law is left with nothing, her home was totally submerged in water, everything that meant something to her (family pictures) is gone... we never know when something can happen that will change our lives forever....we live each day where we only see devastation outside our communitity...when it hits home it's surreal for a few hours then you get busy and use hands that create things of beauty to once again to bring beauty back into your communitity....and it feels good to be sore all over to know you went out and worked for someone other than self.
i am keeping little piece of debris to create a found art collage.

The client usually is just looking for something that matches who they are, something that really brings out their soul. I never see anything wrong with working with a client on a project. I think that they trust you with their vision is a pretty big compliment. However, doing your own thing is always a lot more fun because it is who you are. |

Siu, I like the way you describe the difference. I think with a commision you're doing more of a collaborative work... I understand what you're saying Caroline. |
