African Art
African Art
I am from Africa, and feel a bit like a fish out of water on this website, do not get me wrong, I enjoy the website very much, but I would love to invite all African artists out there ( is there anybody out there???) to join in. Furthermore I'd like to invite any artists from other countries to join in as well, if you want to ask questions or join in discussions you are welcome to do so.

Hi everyone, it's too quiet around here. I'd like to say to the folk living in the flooded areas, i.e Iowa, Illinois and Missouri, be strong, my good wishes are with you and remember every cloud has a silver lining. We are into Winter now, which I hate, sun, sun and more sun is what I enjoy, and we are having wonderful rain, which is odd at this time of year, but I'm glad, its settles the dust and stops everything from turning yellow. Take care!!

Thanks Medici, Lola is gorgeous. My puppy is also a water dog, I think when it is summer again and she is bigger, she will be in the swimming pool all the time. She loves to pay frisbee aswell, so I am gonna be busy with her. I have another older dog, Misty and three birds aswell. Great to have pets.

Love 'Mr Cool'. Who is his owner?? My dearest old staffie, Zoey, 15 years, died 2 weeks ago. For her life was Play, even at 15. She was a real powerhouse, a bull in a china shop! In her last month she had a lot of fun with the new puppy, so I think she died a happy dog, no long suffering. She was a super duper dog. May she rest in peace.

Big (wild) cats are amazing, aren't they? Seeing them from afar is so very different than seeing them up close. You get so used to being around domestic cats and then you are close to a wild cat like a tiger, and it's like hey, your paw is thicker than my arm! Instant respect ;o)

Hi Catherine, well done!!! Your pics are really fantastic. You've caught the spirit of the bird and the animals - fantastic, I always think that is the main thing when painting animals and you are doing a really nice thing for the Zoo. Any conservation centre never has enough money. I visited the Cheetah Conservation Centre a couple of weeks ago and they do a great job with the animals and they also do a lot to educate on the plight of the animals. I finally got to stroke a cheetah, WOW that was awesome - they are so handsome up close, photographs do not do them justice. Anyway good job Katherine and keep up the good work.

Here's some new pieces--all African critters. I focused a bit on these as I am donating a portion of my June sales to the Saint Louis Zoo's Horn of Africa Conservation Center. Please feel free to critique!
