African Art
I am from Africa, and feel a bit like a fish out of water on this website, do not get me wrong, I enjoy the website very much, but I would love to invite all African artists out there ( is there anybody out there???) to join in. Furthermore I'd like to invite any artists from other countries to join in as well, if you want to ask questions or join in discussions you are welcome to do so.

Hi everyone, thank you for all the news. Francesa you mustve had a great art safari, how exciting and thank you for the lovely photos. Johnnie Belinda very interesting to 'doodle' masks, a nice change from the normal kinda 'doodling' you get. Katherine I was thinking of your friend the other day as I came across some pics of the grevy zebra, what a cute, beautiful zebra. I have yet to see one as we dont get them in this part of the Kruger Park. We just have the normal zebra. I will put some photos on that I took in the park soon. Im looking forward to hearing all the interesting 'news' soon. Take care all. Speak soon!

Thanks Caroline!
A good friend of mine is doing conservation work in Africa this month, in Kenya and Lewa. What fun! Much of it is focused on Grevy zebra conservation and the Somali Wild Ass.

Hi Katherine, I see you have added more pieces to your website, they are really very good - you have been busy. I esp. love your elephants.

Karen I agree Hyena's are not mean, they are what they are meant to be. I love their eyes.

Hi Karen, thanks for your update, sounds great and thanks for the pics. Its a bit of a coincidence, the pic you have of the buck looks like an Impala (its hard to see in the photo
), very common in the Kruger Nat. Park. I am busy doing a painting of them! It must be good 'kharma'. Tx!

Hello All!

This is the season when I am busy with my "day job" -real estate! So, I am honored to be asked to join this group and to write about my animal experiences. It just so happens that this past week-end I visited a wildlife ranch that specializes in photo safaris, and has numberous hoofstock from around the world, including Africa! I had a wonderful time, and took many, many pictures!! Lots of good painting material!!! It is in Calvin, Oklahoma. I may try talking the owner into having a special artist week-end, wouldn't that be cool?! I'll keep you all posted on that!!

I used to volunteer at a wildlife park, called Out of Africa which is now located in Cottonwood, Arizona. Unfortunately none of the pics from there are on my computer - I'll have to find a scanner so that I can put up some pics of me playing with a hyena (no, they are not mean!) and the kitties (servals, baby lion cubs, a tiger) and just the gorgeous pics of the place.

Blessings to all!
Karen
