Hey Cortney,
We've had that exact idea already. It's something we're planning on doing. We're just a bit busy, with everything at the moment, but stay tuned, I think we'll be doing this sometime in 08. |

This idea isn't for a contest, but it may be something that BoundlessGallery would be interested in (and would probably also gain some positive publicity for the site). There is some talk in the 'Art for the Better' group about uniting as artists for a combined charitable effort. I created that group in an effort to get ideas going, but it was difficult to get discussions and ideas flowing. I just noticed though that Ryan posted a couple of suggestions (donated pieces from a large group of artists, calendars, etc.). This seems like something that could be very impactful if it could be organized by Boundless Gallery rather than a single artist (especially since so few are members of that group). Could we set up something like the Winter Art Flurry (in that multiple artists can participate)? There could be a month-long period where all money from a designated set of work would go to a specified charity. Each artist who wants to contribute could commit a piece to the cause. Since Boundless collects payments from the customers already, then the donation could be made in a single payment from the site at the end of the month. Maybe the charity could be selected via vote among the participating artists? |

Laurel,
I reposted this for you in the frame group. Since it is active right now and this one isnt, you might get an answer quicker. :) |

Hi, I can't seem to get onto the framing discussion at the moment.
I like the idea on the whole though. I can see they are quality framed (they're quite pricey) And I think it's great that you're keeping moving and adding more to the site.
I would like to know a few things though:
1. Does the wood come from a 'sustainable forest'? This is very important nowadays, that we're not chopping more trees down from the rain-forest etc.....We can buy frames like that here in Switzerland.
2. I've submitted some of my paintings for the option of framing. Yet a day later, coming in as a customer, there is no offer of framing, no mention of it in fact??
3. Is it possible to use my default framing choice to display my work? It does look great within the frame. As long as it's clear, it's an optional extra. It would sell the work better I think within such a professional frame.
4. I've scrolled through all the framing options and I think there's a great choice. I have sold a lot of paintings to Italy on my other sites, though; and they love the 'Rococco' ornate gold traditional style. You have a few in the slightly ornate style, but will they be producing any high-range Rococco styles in the future??

Wonderful. I took another look at it after I wrote that message and thought the gray bar on the left would be a great place to feature the art of the day. But is sounds like you guys have a plan. Can't wait to see what you come up with. |
